Standards of Sound Business & Financial Practices
One of the objectives of the Credit Union Deposit
Insurance Corporation ("CUDIC" or the "Corporation")
under the Credit Union Act is to work with Credit
Union Central of Nova Scotia ("CUCNS") in the development,
promotion and implementation of Standards of Sound
Business and Financial Practices for credit unions.
The Act also empowers CUDIC's Board in consultation
with CUCNS and Government to issue directives to
credit unions regarding Standards of Sound Business
and Financial Practices and Standards. Credit unions
will be monitored to ensure they are operating in
accordance with the Standards of Sound Business
and Financial Practices.
